I love music blogging, it gets me more involved in the music scene, and it also gives me the sense that I’m helping out developing artists; ultimately making a difference in their careers. The feeling gets even better when I can use this platform to brag about truly talented friends of mine, (like Hot Letter, who I’ve posted numerous times). I introduce you to Stay High, a developing artist in the production realm, as well as a truly good friend of mine. He hit me up last week after he released his remix of the classical song, ‘Agnus Dei,’ and I was blown away by how chill the music was. He crafts a slightly glitched beginning, allowing you to get the feel for the latin, chorus-sang, lyrics of the classical original while laying the synths and beats full on, with my favorite part being the semi-drop at 0:52. Throughout the song the drums and synths fade away as the lyrics become more prominent, until ultimately climaxing in a hauntingly beautiful fade out of the chorus’s beautifully eerie voices. The perfect song for these Halloween days. For those of you who don’t know the original I’ve provided a version below, but be sure to check out the remix and hit up Stay High’s soundcloud page to hear more from him!
