Ben Howard at the Paradise [Review]

Having missed him last spring, I was relieved to find out Ben Howard was returning to Boston. September of my freshman year, I saw my first Boston concert at Paradise Rock Club: Sondre Lerche. Flash forward three years and there I was, September of my senior year of college, back at Paradise, seeing a good-looking, guitar playing, and foreign singer. In addition to having common talents and good looks, Ben and Sondre are similar in how playful they are in person. From the minute Ben took the stage, there was such a comfort with the audience, almost as if we were a bunch of his smart-alecky friends (some of who happen to be secretly or very obviously smitten with him). From singing along to “Only Love” to being blown away and unable to keep my feet from tapping along with the jam session during Keep Your Head Up to feeling shivers as he beautifully sang “The Wolves,” I was enveloped in Ben’s contagious passion the entire time. It’s no surprise that most of his American tour concerts are already sold out, but if you’re lucky enough to live where there are a couple left be sure to grab them soon!

Check out Ben’s energy-filled performance of “Move Like You Want” in Frankfurt
