Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is by no means a new band, though they’re new to me and likely you. Formed over a decade ago, the San Francisco-based rock band is still kicking, despite a few changes in the band’s members. They put out music with strong guitar play, some deep and heavy bass, and steady, driven percussion. Basically summing up my criteria for some good-old-fashioned American Rock & Roll. It seems fitting then that I should discover Black Rebel Motorcycle Club in God Bless America, an uproarious film, with some grimy grimy violence. As the plot escalates, “Beat the Devil’s Tattoo” fits in perfectly as an edgy song with enough groove to keep you on the rim of your seat. The first 5-seconds alone should have you hooked, with blues-infused guitar that treats your ears to some audible southern comfort. “Beat the Devil’s Tattoo” is the title-track off Black Rebel Motorcycle’s latest album, which was released in 2010, proving that these veterans are more than capable of producing some quality and vivacious music. Enjoy!
