Blind Pilot [Artist Introduction]

The indie pop/folk band, Blind Pilot recently caught my eye, and I immediately regretted waiting this long to check these guys out. The Portland band released their first album in 2009 and came back with a strong sophomore effort last year. Mixing the male vocal filled poppy choruses like OneRepublic or The Script, with the accoustic filled folky goodness of PRM favorites like The Lumineers or The Head and the Heart, Blind Pilot is able to bridge the two genres nearly seamlessly. Blind Pilot also has a tendency to break up their songs with different themes, with each song feeling like it’s own mini album, somewhat like another PRM favorite, GIVERS. You’ll see all their talents on display in the two songs I’ve chosen below. The first, ‘One Red Thread,’ is one of my favorite songs I’ve heard in recent memory. Don’t waste your life away, check out this band!
