Spanning two continents, Fenster is a NYC/Berlin-based indie trio with a refreshing creativity. They are described as one of the best indie bands that you haven’t heard of, my goal is to change that; so here it goes. Fenster began with JJ Weihl and Jonathan Jarzyna experimenting with a cornucopia of sounds: deconstructed pop music, subtle distortion, city soundscapes, and more. They take these sounds a weave them into dream-like narratives which have a childlike innocence that can make the most mundane tasks seem enchanting. Their debut full-length Bones is out now, and will be introduced to the East Coast in the coming weeks on Fenster’s fall tour. “Oh Canyon” is the first song of the album to be accompanied by a music video, and it’s definitely worth your time. A much overdue ode to the countless furry friends that humans have sent to space to test the proverbial waters, the video for “Oh Canyon” is light-hearted and witty… the music’s not bad either.
