ILUKA [Artist Introduction]

Move over Adele, Norah Jones, and any other vocal queen, ILUKA’s sweet-yet-powerful voice will charm you, leaving you begging for a full-length album. With a blues, jazz, folk sound, you get all the catchiness you want from folk with the soul and depth expected from good blues and jazz. Head on over to her triple J uneartherd page and get 3 free downloads that are perfect introductions to what ILUKA is all about. “Eyes Closed” is my favorite of the three you’ll find on Unearthed. ILUKAs voice is velvety smooth, perfectly supported by folksy blues music in the background; although some of the best moments in the track are when the instruments shine on their own. “Paper Doll,” ILUKA’s latest track, is by far the most folksy of the three, making it ideal catchy-fun weekend music. The last track, “Walking in Circle”s is a perfect walking song especially for early morning or very late at night (just be careful at night not to actually walk in circles). Keep an ear out for any new releases from this rising songstress and if you’re lucky enough to be living in Australia or are visiting there, be sure to see if she has any upcoming concerts in your area!
