Jesse Mills describes his style as punk rock doo-wop, needless to say he has an eclectic range of influences and provides a fun sound. He’s flying below the radar however, and the only quality tracks I can find would best be described as country or folk. I’m lucky though, Jesse Mills will be performing tonight at the Midtown Music & Arts Festival in Harrisburg, and I’ll have a chance to hear some more from this talented artist from the Keystone state. His set starts at 8:30 at the Broad Street Market in Harrisburg, but that’s enough plugging. As for the song I’m sharing, “I Can’t Help It” is a cover of a Hank Williams classic. Mills picks up the pace and softens up the country twang in the Williams original. It sounds great, and Mills lets his vocals take the foreground. Unfortunately he sped up an already short song, leaving us with but 1:23 of music. No excuse if you don’t have time to give this one a shot.
