Nick Waterhouse – Some Place [Artist Introduction]

Nick Waterhouse
Nick Waterhouse’s inspired, powerful live performances have gained him acclaim for his classic R&B style. Gritty yet smooth, Waterhouse draws his influences from past generations, but is able to breath enough new life into the music to attract new listeners to the genre. In a similar fashion to Mayer Hawthorne, who had some success this past year, Nick Waterhouse is attempting to revive a musical style that has been of the charts for a while. However, Waterhouse differs in that his authentic and natural-sounding music remains edgy enough to avoid falling under pop-categorization. Using entirely vintage recording equipment, Waterhouse is committed to making his music his way, and it shows. Check out the video for “Some Place” below (Waterhouse certainly knows how to treat his guests). Nick Waterhouse will be performing at the Great Scott in Alston on 10/4, giving you a great opportunity to catch a stellar show on a dime. Looking forward to seeing some of you there!
