Sietta [Artist Introduction]

Another great find from the big continent down-under is the intriguingly unique band, Sietta. Hailing from Darwin, the duo made up of instrumentalist James Mangohig and vocalist Caiti Baker. With a super soulful voice in the vein of the late Etta James, Baker takes control of each track, making it a deep invigorating experience. Mixing elements of electronic, hip/hop, soul, rock, and pop all together in one dark deeply powerful song. The duo released their debut album, ‘The Seventh Passenger,’ late last year, and still haven’t exactly sprung into the international focus, but it was definitely promising. With hits like the dark-dancefloor jam ‘What am I supposed to do?’ and ‘My Man,’ where the duo channeled their inner 70′s to give us a truly retro blues-rock ditty. The pair released another EP earlier this year, so there’s plenty of soulful angst for you to enjoy, check out my favorites below and go support the artists!
